Aquarium Connections designed and installed custom V-shaped raceways to facilitate coral health, optimizing water flow for nutrient uptake and waste removal. These raceways were part of a broader coral restoration initiative, working in harmony with the Maldives’ unique environment.
This system includes a heat experiment setup with eight controlled tanks, designed to enhance research on the thermo-tolerance of various coral colonies and species. By simulating different temperature conditions, the system allows for in-depth studies into how different coral species respond to heat stress. This research plays a vital role in coral restoration projects, helping to prepare for and mitigate potential mass coral bleaching events by understanding the temperature thresholds at which different coral species can survive.
