What: Garden Koi Pond
When: Completed in 2024
The Garden Koi Display Tank is a 6m x 3m x 1.5m deep pond, with 700mm raised above ground to accommodate a 3m x 2m corner viewing window. Designed using 3D modeling and CAD drawings, the project was constructed during the first week of the COVID lockdown by Vince and his two sons.
A bespoke polycarbonate roof mounted on an aluminium cantilevered frame protects the pond from debris and rainfall. Filtration is managed by two bottom drains feeding a Genessis fleece filter and a biological trickle tower (1.8m high, 1.2m diameter), along with an additional stainless steel Baki shower using Baki House media. Sterilization is provided by an Amalgam UV system, while an air source heat pump ensures efficient heating. Water parameters are monitored using the Alkatronic Pro from Focustronic.
This display pond exclusively houses high-quality Japanese Koi.
