High End Residential Reef
Completed in summer 2025, this high end residential reef was designed and built by Aquarium Connections for a private client. Our team constructed the aquarium on-site, working closely with the client to bring their vision of a home reef to life. We continue to look after the aquarium with weekly maintenance visits.
Alongside the aquarium, we designed and installed a dedicated plant room to house the filtration equipment, water change systems and everything needed to keep the reef running.
Bespoke Aquarium Construction
The aquarium was built using low-iron Optiwhite glass, with our signature 45° mitred corners and a one-piece euro brace. These details give the aquarium a clean finish, with minimal visual distractions when viewing the reef.
Aquarium Plant Room and Filtration
One of our favourite parts of this project is the plant room. We built a bespoke framework to house the equipment, including a large sump, two separate water change systems, a quarantine system and a dedicated coral fragging tank.
Having everything in its own space makes the system much easier to access and maintain, while keeping the equipment out of sight from the main living area.
Since completing the project, our team has returned every week to maintain the aquarium and keep the reef in good condition as it continues to develop.
