Aquarium Connections recently completed the construction and installation of this custom marine aquarium for a residential client in Wimbledon, London.
Measuring 1400 × 600 × 600 mm, the aquarium was built using 12 mm low-iron glass, a laminated CNC euro brace and our Flow to Go floating base system. Including the sump, the complete system holds approximately 700 litres of water.
The aquarium was manufactured by our team, with particular attention paid to the glasswork and overall finish.
Low-iron glass was selected for its clarity, providing an uninterrupted view of the reef. The laminated CNC euro brace provides structural support, while our Flow to Go floating base system completes the construction.
The aquarium features a dedicated filtration system incorporating a mechanical fleece filter, which removes suspended waste before the water passes through an algae bed for additional nutrient management.
Lighting is provided by five Reef Brite XHO strip lights.
The reef aquascape was created by George Thomas of Invinceable Corals, with the rockwork arranged to provide plenty of space for coral placement and future growth.
