Coral restoration system FAQs

A collection of answers to some of the most common questions we get asked at Aquarium Connections.

What is the difference between bespoke and off-the-shelf systems?
Bespoke systems are custom designed to meet specific requirements and goals, while off-the-shelf systems are pre-designed options that incorporate the latest technology for coral spawning.
How can I determine if a bespoke system is right for my project?
A consultation with our team will help assess your needs, space, and project objectives to determine if a bespoke system would provide the best solution.
What is the Triton Method, and why is it used in your systems?
The Triton Method utilises extensive ICP-EOS and NDOC water analysis to create a customised action plan to keep your aquarium balanced. This help to develop and permanently maintain a complete reef ecosystem in an aquarium and aims to adjust the water as close to natural sea water as possible.
How portable are the self-contained coral spawning labs?
Our lab systems are built into robust shipping containers, making them highly portable and easy to relocate. They are designed for quick setup at new locations.
Can the V-shaped raceway systems be expanded?
Yes, the modular design of our V-shaped raceways allows for easy expansion to accommodate more coral plugs as your project grows.
What types of customizations are available for bespoke systems?
Customizations can include adjustments to system size, layout, technology integration, lighting control, and additional features tailored to your specific goals.
How do you control spawning times in the off-the-shelf systems?
The detachable canopy in our systems allows for complete control over coral spawning schedules, enabling spawning at any time of day.
What climate control options are included in the self-contained labs?
Our labs include comprehensive climate control with air conditioning, dehumidifiers, and reverse osmosis water systems for optimal coral spawning conditions.
Are there options for acclimatizing corals before relocating them to the reef?
Yes, our V shaped, and rectangular raceways provide an environment for larger corals and coral fragments to grow and acclimate to natural conditions before being relocated.
How do you collaborate with other organizations on specialized systems?
We work closely with industry experts to ensure our systems meet specialized requirements, such as creating ideal conditions for seahorses, ensuring high-quality and tailored solutions.
