2014

Where it all began

Aquarium connections LTD was founded by Vince Thomas in 2014, accumulating 20 years of expertise in construction, coral husbandry and aquatic systems. Aquarium connections was established as a bespoke aquarium manufacturer and aquarium wholesaler.

2018

Partnered with Triton Applied Bioscience

In 2018, our relationship with Triton expanded by housing their UK based ICP-OES Laboratory. This has allowed us to offer comprehensive and affordable ICP-powered seawater analysis through the Triton Lab. This facility is a vital resource for understanding water chemistry, helping clients to maintain healthy aquatic environments.

2020

Coral Spawning Lab

Following years working with coral spawning, Vince became a Co-founder of the Coral Spawning Lab, with aquarium connections using their expertise in design, procurement, system construction and administrative tasks to enhance the understanding of coral spawning to design and install off the shelf and custom built systems for research and restoration. All the units were built in house at Aquarium Connections sites in Cobham and Morden.

2024

ACT Initiative

In 2024, Aquarium connections stepped away from The Coral Spawning Lab and established ACT (Aqua Coralis Tutela), as a standalone organisation, aimed at facilitating and supporting the scientific community and alike with the tools and technical expertise required for coral spawning and restoration in land-based systems.
